How Many Players in Fart Together? Solo, 2, 3, and 4
Steam lists 2–4 player online co-op on one raft, not single-player or split-screen. Solo and 3-player starts are unconfirmed; Team Race is not in EA.
FAQ
How many players can play Fart Together together?
Can you play Fart Together solo or single player?
Does Fart Together support 3 players?
Is Fart Together split-screen or local co-op?
Does Steam Remote Play Together work?
Can eight players play Team Race in Early Access?
How many players can join one raft?
Steam specifies two to four players in online co-op on one shared raft. That is the core how many players answer for Fart Together today. Feature tags on the main game and Demo list Multi-player, Co-op, and Online Co-op only.
This guide covers two-player, three-player, solo, and eight-player rumors using the same sources. We make no playtesting claims on this site.
What does Steam confirm versus leave open?
Store copy and tags answer most headcount questions; matchmaking details and solo start are the main gaps.
| Topic | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 2–4 players online on one raft | Confirmed | Store copy and Early Access FAQ |
| 2-player sessions | Confirmed in principle | Within the 2–4 range; official shots include two hippos on one raft |
| 4-player sessions | Confirmed in principle | Most official trailer frames show four hippos |
| 3-player sessions | Not confirmed | Store allows 2–4; three-player matchmaking not documented; see section below |
| Solo / single-player | Not confirmed | No Single-player tag on the store page |
| Local split-screen | Not listed | No Shared/Split Screen tag |
| Steam Remote Play Together | Not listed | Do not assume it works without an update to Steam tags |
| 8-player competitive now | Not in EA build | Community hub mentions up to 8 in competitive modes; Team Race is not in Early Access |
If a third-party wiki table lists split-screen, Remote Play, or eight players in the Demo as a separate mode, compare it to Steam feature tags and the Early Access FAQ before you trust it.

Can two friends play Fart Together?
Yes: two-player online co-op fits the verified 2–4 player band. Official gameplay images include pairs of hippos on the same raft with online usernames floating above characters, which matches online co-op rather than couch split-screen. You still need a stable internet connection; the requirements block says online co-op needs reliable connectivity.
For inviting others, Steam does not document lobby steps on the store page. See how to invite friends for what is verified and what is still unknown. If sessions fail, troubleshooting lists generic checks without inventing in-game error codes.
Can three players start a run?
We do not know from official text whether exactly three players can queue together. Steam never narrows the range to “2 or 4 only,” but GamesMrkt has not published three-player matchmaking rules. Official media more often shows two or four hippos on one raft.
How to check yourself:
- Install the free Demo: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5208630/Fart_Together_Demo/
- Form a three-person party using whatever matchmaking or invites the client exposes.
- Re-read the Steam store page and Demo page if feature tags or copy change after Early Access.
Until GamesMrkt or Steam documents three-player support, treat three-player plans as unknown.

This gameplay frame shows three characters on one raft with online name tags. That is not proof that three-player matchmaking is supported.
Can you play solo without friends?
Steam does not list Single-player, so solo is not advertised, and we cannot confirm whether the client allows a one-person lobby. The verified pitch is 2–4 online on one raft, which implies coordination with other players.
If you see guides claiming single player or offline practice, compare them to Steam feature tags above. The honest path is the free Demo: try starting alone and note whether the game blocks you. We will not claim a result we have not verified. For context on what the game is, read what is Fart Together.
What about eight players and Team Race?
Eight-player competitive play is referenced for the full game vision but is not part of Early Access. The Steam Community hub description says competitive modes support up to 8 players. The Early Access FAQ simultaneously says Team Race is still in development and is not included in the current build.
Do not expect eight-player Team Race on 29 Oct 2026 Early Access launch. The Demo uses the same online co-op feature tags as the main game; it is not a separate eight-player mode on the store page.
When Team Race ships, rules (teams, brackets, etc.) are still unknown in first-party text. Avoid “4v4 confirmed” style claims.

How does player count relate to Early Access?
Early Access matches the same 2–4 online co-op obstacle course description; Team Race remains out of scope for the first EA build. Player-count questions that depend on new modes should wait for patch notes. After launch, revisit this page and early access guide when Steam news confirms changes.
Steam does not list split-screen or Remote Play Together among feature tags. The store page does not describe couch co-op on one screen.
